Williams Elementary architects! Grade five students designed a city after learning volume, area, and perimeter. Students worked together in groups to accomplish three phases of the project, calculations, blueprint, and creating a model using legos.

After reading the book, A Long Walk to Water, Green Junior High grade six students designed, constructed, and tested their ideas to filter water. They learned: 1) some of the materials they used actually added contaminants & 2) they ended up with less water than they began with.

Larsen’s fifth grade classes put on four wonderful Encanto musical theater performances. Bravo!

HESD counselors are receiving professional learning on a new program - Hatching Results - working to identify the skills our students will need to be successful as they move forward in life.

1st round of the Sunkist Chess Tournament!! Sunkist students show up every Wednesday to learn and play chess.

Williams School hosted a Math Olympiad today- with GATE students from Haycox and Hathaway also in attendance. Students had an opportunity to meet new friends while collaborating to solve math challenges.

Dr. Cesar Morales, Superintendent of Schools, visited our district today. Students performed mariachi at Blackstock. Parkview gave a tour of their school garden project. Haycox shared their calming room. Bard demonstrated a community circle. Kudos to all!
