ENROLLMENT FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR IS NOW OPEN

Who is Eligible for Transitional Kindergarten?

  • Children turning five by February 2, 2023 (born between Sept. 2, 2017 - Feb. 2, 2018) may enroll in transitional kindergarten.

  • NEW!  Children turning five between February 3, 2023 and September 1, 2023 (born between February 3, 2018 and September 1, 2018) may request to enroll in TK by completing this form:

  • Priority enrollment for Extended TK birth dates ends on May 1st.  There will be limited spaces for the extended TK birth dates, student selection will be based on student age.

Is there After School Care for Transitional Kindergarten?

  • Yes! Hueneme ESD is partnering with Child Development Resources (CDR) and Catalyst Kids to offer a full day Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program. 

  • Students who enroll in TK and indicate interest in the expanded learning day for 2022-23 by May 1st will be guaranteed a space in the after school program, which will operate daily until 5:00pm.

Who is Eligible for Kindergarten?

  • Children turning  five years old by September 1, 2022 may enroll in Kindergarten. All elementary schools currently offer an extended day kindergarten program.  Bard and Parkview Schools offer dual language programs and Sunkist and Larsen Schools offer bilingual programs.  Students turning 5 by February 2, 2023  are eligible for TK in 2022-23 and students turning 5 by September 1, 2022 are eligible for kindergarten in 2022-23.  

TK is offered at Bard, Haycox, Hueneme, Larsen, and Williams Schools. Additional school sites may be added based on enrollment requests.

Enroll for both TK and Kindergarten at your HOME School, even if TK is not offered at your home school.  If TK is not offered at your home school, staff at your home school will assist in enrolling your child in one of the TK classes at another school site.  Based on enrollment, TK classes may be added to additional school sites.  Click here for the TK and Kindergarten enrollment hours and schedule.

HESD will offer FOUR options for new student enrollment for the 2022-23 school year. Please select the enrollment option that is most suitable for you.

PLEASE NOTE: Your student will NOT be fully enrolled until the entire enrollment process has been completed regardless of the option you choose.

OPTION 1: ONLINE NEW STUDENT ENROLLMENT

  • Follow the New Student Enrollment link to complete the online enrollment information. https://hesd.vcoe.org/preenrollment /

  • Supporting enrollment documentation (e.g., proof of residency, health records, birth certificate) may be uploaded at the end of the process.

  • Your school’s office staff will contact you after you have submitted the enrollment information if there are any questions about your enrollment or to schedule a time for you to take your supporting documents to the school if you did not upload them at the end of the online enrollment process.

OPTION 2: DOWNLOAD NEW STUDENT ENROLLMENT DOCUMENTS

  • Download the New Student Enrollment documents, complete the documents, and email the completed documents to your school’s office staff.

  • Supporting documentation (e.g., proof of residency, health records, birth certificate) may be uploaded and emailed with the completed documents.

  • Your school’s office staff will contact you after you have submitted the enrollment information if there are any questions about your enrollment or to schedule a time for you to take your supporting documents to the school if you did not upload them at the end of the online enrollment process.

OPTION 3: PRINT NEW STUDENT ENROLLMENT DOCUMENTS AND DROP-OFF AT SCHOOL SITE

  • Download the New Student Enrollment documents, print the documents, and drop off the completed documents at your school office during the scheduled drop-off dates/times (see below).

  • Copies of required documents (e.g., proof of residency, health records, birth certificate) will need to be submitted with the enrollment documents.

  • Your school’s office staff will review the enrollment documents several days after being dropped off. An office staff member will contact you after you have submitted the enrollment documents if there are any questions.

OPTION 4: PICK-UP/DROP-OFF NEW STUDENT ENROLLMENT DOCUMENTS

  • New Student Enrollment documents will be available for pick-up at your school office on designated dates/times (see below).

  • Enrollment documents that are picked up will need to be completed off-site. There will not be a designated place for parents to complete the packet on-site.

  • Completed enrollment documents can be dropped off at school sites.

  • Copies of required documents (e.g., proof of residency, health records, birth certificate) will need to be submitted with the enrollment documents.

  • Your school’s office staff will review the enrollment documents several days after being dropped off. An office staff member will contact you after you have submitted the enrollment documents if there are any questions.

INTRA-DISTRICT and INTER-DISTRICT TRANSFERS

  • Intra-district transfer form for the 2022-23 school year will be available May 2, 2022 and can be downloaded, completed and emailed to Executive Secretary, Tereza Arrieta at tarrieta@hueneme.org .

  • Inter-district transfer forms can be downloaded, completed and emailed to Executive Secretary, Tereza Arrieta at tarrieta@hueneme.org .
